Work At Home Job Or Work At Home Business - What To Do?

By Tammy Embrich

If you're new to the World Wide Web, then this can be an overwhelming choice for you to make.

First of all...you need to to be aware upfront, the differences of a work at home job and a work at home business. All too often newbie Internet surfers that want to work from home does not distinguish between the two. Let me tell you...there is a significant difference! And I think it should be addressed. But, I'll get to that in a bit.

Everyday I see individuals on forums that are desperately searching for a way to earn money from home. And when they are asked what they would be interested in pursuing, they don't have a clue...except that they want to earn "instant cash."

Well, the hard truth is there is no such thing as "earning instant cash" online. If there were, everyone would be following suit.
Right? Hopefully the above statement gets a unanimous vote. You can search all you want, and you won't find such an opportunity.

So now, let's explore the differences of a "job" and a "home business" and the fees involved.

A "job" is when you are hired by an employer or company to perform specific duties in return for a set hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly wage. Usually you are required to have specific skills and/or experience, and will be asked to supply a resume. Routinely, an interview will follow to determine if you are fit for the job.

Sometimes you will find a position where there is no experience required. And you will be trained or you will have to take an online test. It all depends on the employer or company.

There should not be any fees required for a job...except for a few instances.

For example: Sometimes a headset is required for customer service positions. Or, a foot pedal is required for transcription positions. Also, there may be a background check with a minimal fee attached. These fees are all normal and necessary in order to acquire the requested position. You are paid as long as you complete the job to the employer's expectations and satisfaction.

Here are some examples of online jobs:

1. Customer Service

2. Data Entry

3. Admin Assistant

4. Transcription/Medical Transcription

5. Tutoring

6. Blogging or Writing Jobs

A "home business" is a whole other situation...

With a "home business"...your success depends on sales. And for the most part, it takes a lot of patience, motivation, and hard work, as well as initial fees to get one set up and get off the ground. The fee amounts will depend on your particular situation and needs.

Here are some examples of home businesses:

1. You may have a particular craft skill and desire to sell products created by you.

2. You may have a passion for scrapbooking and wish to start a scrapbooking business.

3. You may have graphic design skills and would like to start a business in graphic design.

4. You love web design and have the required skills to start a web design business.

5. You may want to become an associate or a distributor for businesses such as, Watkins, Tupperware, Avon, Ameriplan, etc.

There are many options available to you...the possibilities are substantially endless.

However, there will be various factors you will need to take into consideration:

Do you have the readily available funds to start and run your business?

Do you have the funds for purchasing the appropriate insurance (if needed, it may not be required for your particular situation)?

Do you have the knowledge of web design for creating a website?

How do you intend on promoting your business?

As you can see, there are lots of variables there for you to think about.

With a business, you MUST have a passion for the products/services you promote and sell. If you don't love what you are doing, then it's highly unlikely that you will succeed.

Bottom line:

With a home "job" you are an employee and are paid set wages for performing specific duties.

With a home "business" you are paid for the products or services you promote and sell.

With either option, there are good possibilities of earning an income from home.

So now, you have an important decision to make for yourself. You need to determine what it is you would really like to do and would also continue to enjoy doing. Weigh in the variables, make an informed decision, and go for it!

Whatever decision you make, I wish you much success.

Do you have what it takes to be an e-entrepreneur?

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.

Start An Internet Home Business And Add A Shot Into Your Bank Account

By Matt Belock

With the threat of a recession looming ever larger an increasing number of people are looking for other ways to make extra income. Many people find that starting a home business on the internet is one way of getting some extra money into their bank account. You only have to do a quick search to find that plenty of people advocate the internet as a great way of doing business and making money.

The rise of the internet, especially over the last ten years has made it much easier for people to earn an extra income online. Every day new websites are appearing and depending on how seriously the individual takes their home business, it isn't too long before that person starts to see the fruit of their labors. You'll be surprised at how good it feels to see the first bit of money come in from your home business.

There are a number of ways for people to get started on a home internet business. Many people choose to start with becoming an affiliate for certain products. A lot of internet businesses have been so successful that their owners decide to recruit others and pay a substantial amount of commission to affiliates. Some internet businesses provide their affiliates with a lot of help and information in setting up their own website and promoting the products. This is a good way of getting started on an internet business as you have the benefits of somebody else's experience.

When people find success as an affiliate they may often recruit others and pay them some of the commission that they would receive. Once the recruit has their business up and running then the first affiliate also starts to make more money. Money earned in this way is often referred to as passive income as there is no direct relationship between the money that a person earns and the work they do to receive it. A lot of people get started this way and find success with their internet business.

Getting a website and building yourself an online presence is only the beginning because you have to decide whether you are going to concentrate solely on affiliate business or whether you are going to develop your own product as well. A good number of people use both their own products and some affiliate links as this provides them with more ways of making money. Some website owners also sign up for Google adsense accounts and make some money when visitors click on those adds - however, you are unlikely to get rich with Google, it's just another way of getting a little bit of unearned income into your account.

The success of your internet business depends very much on how much traffic you get to your website and whether that traffic is especially interested in what you have to offer. Most seasoned internet business people will tell you that it is worth spending at least some money on Google ad words while you are trying to find out what terms people use to find a particular product - once that is determined it is much easier to attract those visitors who are interested in what you have to offer.

Start at any major search engine and look for home based business opportunities. This will bring up a lot of results that you can start looking at. You want to make sure that you look at more than one opportunity. Save them in a place that is easy to find so you can go back later and research the opportunities you are interested in thoroughly. The next thing you can do to find the home based business opportunities to choose from is to visit a couple of different home business forums. One other good thing about forums is that you can always ask your own questions if you found a business opportunity that you are interested in.

One other good method to find home based business opportunities that you can start your home business with is to find review blogs. There are many blogs that are set up to review different business opportunities. Find them and read what they say. Look at more than one so you can learn if it is a good opportunity to use to make money.

You want to make sure you do your research thoroughly before you start your home business with any opportunity.
